While working Sunday evening online with my compter upstairs in my kitchen, I had an unobstructed view to the S.W. through two large windows which had the blinds pulled 3/4 of the way up... when I happened to notice an UNUSUAL CONTRAIL ARCING TOWARD THE NORTH FROM the direction of Waco, Texas. I am situated approximately 48 miles S.S.W. of Fort Worth and 45 miles North of Waco, Texas. As a former commercial pilot, with instrument and multi-engine ratings, I noticed that
this particular contrail had a base which appeared over the apparent S.W. horizon and the angle was so steep (probable 60 degrees) that it immediately caught my attention- I went to the window for further investigation (thinking, perhaps this is an airliner in distress) - runaway elevator or loss of control, etc.--when much to my amazement, this object did a abrupt verticle ascent from a fixed point- that's right- no pull up with a normal curve at contrail bottom- I'm talking about a change of direction, speed and ascent almost instantaneosly to the verticle- 90 degrees ascent and it
accellerated as it went forward. Since the sun was setting in the Western sky and we had a clear sky this contrail and object was clearly visible, especially since it was reflecting in varying intensities as it passed throgh our upper atmosphere. I caught a very good reflection of the object with binoclars I keep in the kitchen- it HAD NO WINGS- EGG SHAPED, (not tublar like a missle) METALLIC SILVER WITH REFLECTIVITY OF BRIGHTLY POLISHED CHROME-- my estimate of altitude would be in the 25-30 thousand feet range when I first saw it... as it accellerated upward, the contrail was
not continious, but rather sparoidic as if it were passing through different temps... I watched it till it disappeared from the sky..still in a verticle ascent- Good God, I thought this might have been a missle launch the way this craft behaved. The only major military based south of me is Fort Hood (approx. 100 miles as the crow flies) however, President Bush's Texas compound is prob! able 60 miles S.S.W- I called my parents, who live next door out to witness the event, but by the time they made it outside all that was left was the tale-tale sign of the lower contrail, except that the portion of the contrail that went verticle was still evident and they were also amazed as to the phemonenia.
Hope this wasn't Saddam's avowed 1st attempt at retribtion. If it was however, our missle defense worked, because I'm still here to report this sighting. There was no sound involved in this incident. From now on, I will replace the binnoclars with a video camera. Keep up the good work.

DAYTON -- John E. Lynch writes, "I feel that the information you
have written concerning UFO's and contrails is correct." I read an
article on the Jeff Rense website about this. I watched all year the
activity of these contrails and have become sick because of them. I
work as security officer at a major hospital located in the Dayton,
Ohio area. The contrails would start and by the evening the people
would start rolling into the emergency department. I work outside
and watched these contrails being sprayed. I observed a very strange
thing around the end of June as I was watching the planes when a
silver disk appeared inside one of these trails and sprayed a small trail
just like the plane. I was shocked and continued to watch as this disk

CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION UFO

LOS ANGELES - Media person Damian Barna called to say he
observed a low flying UFO on Wednesday, August 16, 2000,
around 6:00 PM. The witness was at work at the Democratic
Convention Center and noticed a low flying C-130 type green
aircraft circling the area. He assumed it was there for some kind of
antiterrorist aerial protection for key government officials. Looking
to the West he noticed a fast moving luminous contrail being
formed moving east in the clear blue sky coming towards him. At
arm's length the luminous jet trail was two inches long and a quarter
inch high about 8 inches above the horizon. When the luminous
object and the C-130 aircraft came in close proximity to each other
the luminous object disappeared. Damian felt the object deliberately
put on a show to be seen by those around the convention and the

UFO With Vapor Trail?

On Friday, October 13, 2000, ufologist Jim Hickman "was monitoring
local law enforcement (radio channels) and at 7:31 p.m. local time, a radio call
came in that four or five fighter planes were sighted by local police officers,
and they were traveling to the northwest."

"At the same time, an unidentified flying object (UF)) encountered the
fighters and reportedly crashed into the ground north of Elk City, Oklahoma."
The fighters were presumably from Tinker Air Force Base near
Oklahoma City. The descending UFO, Hickman reported, "was seen by multiple
witnesses as far west as Shamrock, Texas and as far east as Clinton, Okla.,
north to Cheyenne, Okla. and south to Granite, Okla."
According to a radio transmission reportedly made by Hammond, Okla.
police cruiser, the UFO "was headed north" and crashed on a farm just north
of Hammond.

"At about this time, I made a personal observation out my back door,"
Jim reported, "and I noticed a bright luminous vapor trail that went from the
southwest to the northeast. There were several other trails in the area to the
north (of Elk City--J.T.) but they seemed normal in color. I saw no other
lights or aircraft in the area." Another eyewitness also reported seeing a strange luminous vapor trail in the lower atmosphere.

Richard P. of Jenks, Okla. (population 1,100), a town 10 miles (16
kilometers) south of Tulsa, reported, "There was cloud cover everywhere but
to the southwest." At 7:20 p.m., "I had just stepped outside when I saw a light
in the southwest sky, moving to the north. It was about 'a fist at arm's length'
above the horizon. It was more like two or three lights on the front of an
object that was leaving a definite trail. The trail, which had sort of a shine to
it, made me question if the object was an airplane. It seemed more like a
fireball that was starting to break apart. As the object moved north, it would
pass behind scattered cloud cover, but I saw it for at least thirty seconds
before it disappeared for good."

"The trail stayed in the sky for another 10 to 15 minutes. Also, as the sky
got darker, the trail got brighter! Finally, it was a beam of light, as bright as
the full moon, across the southwestern sky." The Rogers Mills County Sheriff's Department also reported, "Sparks in the sky," according to Jim Hickman.
On Saturday, October 14, 2000, KFOR TV in Oklahoma City reported,
"It happened last night at 7:30 p.m. when a strange sight surface in the sky.
Reports came into our newsroom from across the state, and many callers saw
the same thing. They had seen a mysterious fireball in the sky."
KFOR TV reported sightings of the UFO and its luminous trail in the
cities of Elk City, Erick, Enid, Alva, Clinton, Leedy, Oakwood, Choctaw,
Mangum, Ringwood and Sayre."

The TV station telephoned Tinker Air Force Base, the National Weather
Service and NORAD., "and we quickly learned that the object had been seen
by folks from Texas to Nebraska." However, eyewitnesses in Kansas saw more than one object in the sky. "'There's one big light and around it just five little balls, just lights, just
following them. And then through the sky there was just like vapors, and
vapors like different colors--blues and oranges--that were just cool,' said
eyewitness Arthur Davis of Valley Center, Kansas."

There were also reports of "fire in the sky" from McCook, Nebraska.
In Wichita, the largest city in Kansas, hundreds saw the aerial display.
"Gary Bishop of South Wichita said, 'Just looked over my shoulder and
right across the sky, from the southwest to the northwest, down a little bit.
This was a meteor that left a trail of blue light. It was beautiful!'"
"911 supervisors said they had more telephones ringing than dispatchers
to handle them. They say they had around 150 calls from witnesses saying
they saw everything from space aliens to a plane crash."

"At NORAD, M/Sgt. Larry Lincoln said, 'It seems to be a very heavy
meteor shower. Our weather people told us to expect something like this
between October 10th and the 19th of October, with the heaviest coming
down around the 15th. It seems to be probably coming down a little early.'"
(Editor's Comment: Right, Sarge. And that's why, despite advance warning,
NASA launched the space shuttle Discovery right into the teeth of this meteor
storm.) At 7:43 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) office in
Oklahoma City reported that it was a meteor shower. (See the Wichita,

Report Of "Hamburger" Shaped Object Creating Trail

ISUR Case File #100086

Four witnesses near Webster, New Hampshire saw a large white UFO coming
down the west side of Mt. Kearsage. At an estimated distace of 7-8 miles
away and to the northwest, the UFO moved very slowly while unfurling a
"ribbon trail" behind it that was the "color of the sun with a tint of
silver" to mark the trail's outline. Coming out of the solid ball of white
light was a pulsing white light that also had intermittent red
flashes. This mixture of white and red lights led some to speculate
incorrectly that they were looking at, perhaps, a plane on fire that was in
the act of crashing. However, on reaching the base of Mt. Kearsage, the
large UFO stopped moving and hovered for the next five minutes.

While hovering, the beginning of the "trail" behind the UFO began changing
form and grew in brightness to that of the sun which could also be seen by
the observers. After taking 5 minutes to reach the brightness of the
sun, the intensity of the trail stayed constant for five minutes. During
the whole interval the UFO continued to remain motionless at the base of
the mountain. After 5 minutes of constant engery output the "trail' began
growing weaker and within another 5 minutes had dissipated completely. The
UFO then disappeared. Smoke was then seen to linger in the area according
to the witnesses.

A local Civil Air Patrol (CAP) unit was called to the area to make a
thorough search for a crashed object of some kind. The CAP planes found
nothing. Several search teams operating from the ground, and going to where
the UFO had been seen hovering, also found nothing.

Weather conditions were clear skies up to a ceiling of 40,000 feet.
Estimated size of the large, pulsing "hamburger" shaped UFO was
425 feet in diameter. At it's lowest elevation the UFO appearred to be
hovering at tree-top level which was directly across from the witnesses
who were at the same elevation nearly eight miles away. It is not known
if the UFO made any noise. Apparent size and brightness of the UFO was that
of the sun which was used as a comparision while watching the UFO. All
witnesses said that when the UFO and its ribbon trail were at its brightest
that it hurt their eyes to look at it. Total sighting time for the UFO by
the witnesses was twenty minutes.

FIREBALL UFOs DOMINATE
COLORADO SKIES

Colorado's UFO flap roared into its second week with multiple sightings in the central and
southern portions of the state. On Friday, January 23, 1998, Jim Roberts spotted
"an orange or salmon-colored globe" hovering above his ranch in Cotopaxi (population 75), a small town on Colorado Highway 50 about 148 miles (248 kilometers) south of Denver. He reported, "The object was hovering, dimming and brightening, over the western horizon."

Four days later, on Tuesday, January 27, 1998, Marshal Steve Ford was driving in his cruiser near the intersection of Blue River Road and Colorado Highway 9 in Breckenridge (population 1,285) when he spotted "a large fiery object trailed by a plume of smoke."
Breckenridge is in central Colorado approximately 83 miles (133 kilometers) west of Denver.

"It was a fairly large object that was on fire with smoke that was spiraling off the back of it," Ford told the Denver Post. "My first thought was that it was
a meteor." "Ford said the object plummeted more than 1,000 feet. He lost sight of it at tree level."

"'It was a vertical shot toward the ground, and I'm sure it impacted the ground,' Ford said." "Leigh Pezzicara, a spokeswoman for Breckenridge Ski Resort, and several guests reported seeing a flare in the area of Peaks 5 and 6. 'However, we really can't
confirm what it was,' she said." Rancher "John Fisher was in Breckenridge when
he spotted the object. According to Fisher, it created a visible trail that covered a quarter of the sky."

Fisher spotted the object just past noontime as he was driving north on Highway 9, near the Breckenridge Building Center. "Although no one saw where the object landed, Fisher believes it hit near Good Pasture Tarn, just west of Breckenridge."

Eight hours later, "hours after a 'daytime fireball' was spotted streaking earthward near Breckenridge... several people reported seeing another blazing object
south of town that night."

"Breckenridge resident John Sperber was driving south on Main Street at about 10:45 p.m. when he and a friend saw a bluish-green fireball streak east to west across the sky." "'It looked like an egg and was so bright we could see some smoke behind it,' Sperber said."

SPEEDY FIREBALL SHOCKS CROWD IN
NORTHERN ITALY --The Hickman Report 2/14/00

On Wednesday, November 10, 1999, at about 11:15
p.m., people at the I Portal shopping center In Modena, a
large city in Emilia-Romagna province, Italy, about 180
miles north of Rome, spotted a "large shiny luminous
object" plunging through the night sky.

They saw "a bright luminous object that moved with
incredible velocity, following a descending trajectory.
The object left a luminous trail with three different colors
ranging from an intense white and yellow to a brilliant
green."

The event lasted 45 seconds and was witnessed by the Astronomy-200 class at the University of Victoria. Witnesses stated that the object was of greenish color and showed a vapor trail approximately 2 degrees long.

Excerpt From Filers Files #36- 9/11/00

COLUMBUS -- Researcher John C. Thompson writes, "A major break has
developed in the February 5, 2000, central Georgia 'mystery boom' that was
widely reported by Columbus news-media" Jim Steen of MUFON in Columbus
alerted me to new witnesses in Mauk, Georgia. The Marion County couple were
at home when at 5:20 PM they heard, like tens of thousands of others, a loud
explosion that knocked items off their living room shelves.

They ran outside and saw a high flying "tiny white speck" with contrail behind it almost
directly overhead. Simultaneously, another object emerged at a 75 degrees from the contrail of what they thought was a fighter jet flying to the southeast. The 41 year old husband described the UFO as a "shiny metallic spear" that contracted and elongated as it moved at a dazzling speed away from the fighter.

The UFO looked exactly like a metal cigar canister that moved many times
faster than the jet. At its greatest length, the UFO was "eight times" longer than
the jet which could be compared near it. At its shortest, it was half that size. It
"oscillated" in size as it flew away silently to the southwest. The wife
said the UFO was many times bigger than the jet and was a metallic disc that
was rapidly spinning as it sped away in excess of 2000 mph. A soft whoosh from the
engines of the overhead jet could be heard.

The large blimp size UFO--the husband said "was much bigger than any Fuji film blimp. It made no sound and covered a third of the horizon in only "4 seconds." It disappeared behind a stand of short pines. The visibility was excellent, ceiling unlimited, 65
degrees F, with little wind. The jet, whose swept back wings and fuselage
could clearly be seen, meanwhile, was still in sight nearly two minutes later
at a 140 degrees azimuth. Both craft appeared to be at the same altitude. It
can be estimated, based on the fighter's small apparent size, that they were
flying above 20,000 feet. Within 18 hours 10 to 15 military jets were seen to be flying a "tic-tac-toe pattern" over Marion and adjacent Taylor County.

This abnormal military air activity went on for ten days. Tree-hugging Blackhawk helicopters were seen within four days following the blast doing search patterns. The dark Blackhawks had absolutely no markings. Some were seen with side refueling probes and with forward "bulbs." Such helicopters, "Pave-Hawks," with refueling probes and
forward infrared internal sensors, are stationed at Hurlburt Field near Eglin
AFB in northwest Florida.

Editors Note: The 347th Wing at MoodyAFB, GA. has F-16s fighters whose length
is 49 feet 5 inches long. Estimated size is 8 x 50 = 400 feet in length for
the UFO. Eglin AFB has F-15s that are 64 feet in length.
